Summer Term: All The World's A Stage

Our final topic is All The World's A Stage.

This topic takes us back to the Tudor era and the rise in popularity of William Shakespeare and the theatre. Year 6 will be learning about Tudor kings and queens and their stories,  but also what Tudor life was like both for rich and poor children. They will choose a topic of interest for them such as Tudor medicine or sports in the 1500s which they will then research and present to the rest of the class.

A story of ill-fated lovers whose untimely deaths unite two feuding families, Romeo and Juliet is our last book study of Year 6. We will be studying some of the original text, looking to see how English language has changed since the 1600s. We will also stage some scenes in drama lessons so Year 6 can feel and see the power of the language too!

We will finish the year with a leavers' assembly - Year 6's own performance and their way of saying a fond farewell before moving on to the adventure of high school.
