This term we will be finding out about the Roman Invasion of Britain and how the Romans changed British culture.

In history, we will be looking at life from both the settlers (the Celts) point of view and the invaders (the Romans), and our written work will reflect this as we write persuasive speeches from Boudicca and letters back home from Hadrian's wall from the Roman soldiers. In DT we will be sewing Roman bullas which are amulets worn like a locket. In Art, Year 3 will be designing and making their own mosaic pictures. 

In maths, we will be developing further the children's knowledge of multiplication, and fractions and measuring length, perimeter, mass and capacity. 

We will have group guided reading sessions at first to target specific skills, but when the children are ready we will start our next whole class novel study of  I Was There.... Boudica's Army by Hilary McKay.
